The QUEST (Quasar Equational Survey Team) in Venezuela is an international collaboration between members of the Physics and Astronomy Departments and the Yale Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics at Yale University, Indiana University , the CIDA Observatory in Merida, Venezuela, and the Universidad de los Andes , also in Merida, Venezuela.  The project utilizes the CIDA Schmidt Telescope with a large area camera, a mosaic of 16 CCD's covering an area fo about 2^o x 2^o.

The camera has been designed and built at Yale University and Indiana University.  It has been installed at the prime focus of the telescope in 1997 and science quality data taking started in 1998.
